This Striking Black and White Storm Photography by Mitch Dobrowner is the result of years of chasing storms across the United-States.
Mitch Dobrowner grew up in Long Island (Bethpage), NY. Feeling a bit lost in his late teen years, the discovery of photography through the gift of an old Argus rangefinder from his father sparked what would then become a life long career. His addiction to photography was then confirmed after being exposed to some of Minor White and Ansel Adams’ works. He then left his home to scour the American southwest. In California is where he met his wife, had 3 children and created their own design studio.
the tasks of running a business and raising a family took a priority to Photography. During that time I stopped taking pictures.
In 2005, inspired by his family and friends, Mitch found the motivation and time to pick up his camera once again.
Today I see myself on a passionate mission to make up for years of lost time – creating images that help evoke how I see our wonderful planet.
This post’s primary focus will be on his storm series. His method of juxtaposing the high relief displayed in some of these dramatic weather formations and the calm flat plains in his photographs, gives us a truly breathtaking experience.
